Whereas Clauses

Writing "Whereas" Paragraphs:

  1. These paragraphs describe the harmful conditions that the resolution will help alleviate and why it is important to alleviate these conditions.  For example, you may want to write about air pollution from industrial facilities.
  2. The description of these conditions should be supported by citations to experts and their materials.  These authorities could be articles in academic or technical journals, articles in the popular press, whether print or digital, eyewitness accounts, and/or DPNM documents such as the Party Platform.

Be It Resolved Clauses

Writing the "Be It Resolved" Paragraphs:
  1. These paragraphs describe the actions that must be undertaken to alleviate the harmful conditions.   For example, you may want to write about better regulation of polluting facilities, or organizing alternative, community-based-owned facilities that operate on non-polluting energy sources, such as solar energy.
  2. These paragraphs should describe solutions in specific terms, as much as possible.
