-10A | 213 | Lasky, Gary | M | As a Democratic Party campaign volunteer and staffer I’ve learned the importance of listening to voters face-to-face and to train empower elevate and support our Democratic volunteers in the hard work of voter engagement and building our Party. My campaign experience includes organizing staff to the Udall for Senate campaign in 2008 field organizer staff to President Obama’s reelection in 2012 and as a full-time volunteer for Bernie Sanders in 2016. I was elected to the DPNM State Central Committee in 2019 where I've served three terms and as a delegate to the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Presently I am the Bernalillo County Ward 10A Chair. I recently completed the 2025 legislative session in Santa Fe as an environmental analyst for the New Mexico State Senate Democratic leadership. We are now ON OUR OWN and can no longer count on Congress and our legislature passed a law to create a firewall to protect New Mexico’s precious water supplies from pollution. Our Democratic activists are discouraged especially in our rural counties which have watched as once-Democratic regions turn Republican. Efforts by Trump to shred our environmental protections and constitutional rights are scary indeed. We have no choice but to fight back. |
-10A | 213 | Winslow, Tracy L | F | I am running for the SCC because this is a moment of change a moment we need to flip the script and build a new party. It is of the utmost importance to have people at the table who are ready for this. People who are ready to ask why some of our representatives are not working for us. Why in a time like today we are not hearing their voices rise loud above those who are trying to turn our country into a fascist state. We also need people at that table who are going to listen and really hear the new voices that are joining us. We need people who are ready to see those who are bubbling up through the grass roots movements and are ready to lead. Yes this vote is for people who are here to elect the new leadership in the state party. But that is just one step on their journey as an SCC member. We can no longer exist on auto pilot. We have to build a new party that people can believe in again and this has to start at the state and local level. |
-11A | 151 | Gamelsky, Lee D | M | I am a lifelong democratPct chair 151 former SCC member. Also as an architect bee keeper and farmer I bring a realistic perspective to the party on environmentalland use development water and energy issues. |
-11A | 153 | Lang, Zachary Ryan | M | I grew up involved in politics as the son of a former state senator and county commissioner. Given the state of things around the country right now it feels critical that is time to get involved. As an educator I want to be able to walk the talk of telling students that there are many ways we can be involved in our political system. I would love to be apart of the SCC and work to strengthen the democratic party of Bernalillo |
-11A | 154 | Kmak, Robert W | M | I have been active in the Dem party for several years as a precinct chair and the ward chair for the last 4 years. I want to ensure that ward 11A is represented in the SCC and that we fight to keep our democracy. |
-11A | 162 | Lucero, Lora Anne | F | I'm running for SCC because I believe the Democratic Party can rise to the challenge of meeting the needs and fundamental rights of every New Mexican old and young urban and rural every faith tradition and every ancestral heritage. We are one undivided humanity and Trump will not succeed in tearing us apart. I'm a retired lawyer and city planner a mother of 3 grown sons grandmother and a great-grandmother. They are my foundation and my inspiration for working tirelessly to build a better world. I'm currently Chair of Ward 11A as well as co-leader of the Progressive Democrats of America. |
-11A | 162 | Perez, Abran J | M | I am running for the position to ensure than our state if New Mexico stays blue for the far future. And also to help make changes on the national level and ensure that democracy does not ever leave our country. |
-11A | 162 | Remillard, Lourdes Enriquez | F | I am running for the Democratic Party State Central Committee of New Mexico because I believe in a government that truly serves its people not just the wealthy and powerful. My core values are rooted in equity justice and compassion—ensuring that every person regardless of their background has access to basic human rights such as healthcare fair wages housing and protection from discrimination. I have dedicated my time to supporting marginalized communities advocating for workers’ rights and fighting against policies that benefit the billionaire class while leaving hardworking Americans behind. I have seen firsthand the damage caused by economic inequality political corruption and unchecked corporate influence and I refuse to stand by while those in power continue to rig the system against everyday people. My goal is to help build a Democratic Party that prioritizes social and economic justice combats misinformation and stands firm against the growing threats of authoritarianism and discrimination. I believe in a future where our party fights unapologetically for working-class families LGBTQ+ rights and policies that uplift those who have been ignored for too long. Together we can create meaningful change—change that truly represents the values and needs of the people of New Mexico. |
-11A | 162 | Saiz, Jonathan David | M | As a dedicated educator and advocate I am committed to strengthening our schools supporting educators and ensuring every student has access to a high-quality education. Born and raised in Bernalillo County I have devoted my career to serving my community guided by the principles instilled in me as the son of a lifelong union member. I am a proud NMHU graduate and a current doctoral student at UNM. My academic and professional journey has been focused on advancing equity in education expanding opportunities and empowering the next generation of leaders. I believe deeply in the middle class the power of unions and the transformative role of public education. These values have shaped my career in public service and remain the foundation of my commitment to making a meaningful impact in the community that has given me so much. As a proud Democrat I understand the importance of civic engagement and our shared responsibility in shaping our communities' future. I look forward to continuing my advocacy for policies that uplift working families strengthen our education system and build a brighter future for all. We can create a stronger more prosperous New Mexico—where opportunity fairness and progress define our path forward. |
-11A | 166 | Clark, Alicia Athena | F | I am running for a spot on the State Central Committee for the Democratic Party for New Mexico because I want to be more actively involved in the Democratic Party and because I believe it is both a duty and a privilege to participate in self-government. I have been an attorney with New Mexico Legal Aid for the past 17 years and a voter since the age of 18. Obviously I am very concerned at what the Republicans in Congress are allowing to happen to our country and am very concerned for the survivial of our constitutional republic. I want to do whatever I can to help. Thank you for reading my statement. |
-11B | 150 | Stern Powell, Jake M | M | I've served the Democratic Party in several roles over the past few years including Precinct Chair CCC member SCC member and 1st Vice Chair of the Bernalillo County Democratic Party. Currently I work for a nationwide organization focused on recruiting downballot candidates and supporting rural Democratic Parties at the county level. As part of my work I've coached county party chairs and potential candidates helped garner the organization national press attention and traveled to rural counties during the 2024 election to get out the vote. While I plan to yield my SCC vote to further unite and improve the party I have one campaign promise: I will never send you a mass email you didn't specifically sign up for. |
-11B | 152 | Lucero, Flora T | F | Participating in our democracy is a valuable privilege. I am grateful for that opportunity. |
-11C | 163 | Kempton, Mari Shirley | F | I believe that getting progressive and diverse candidates to run and win is the best way to move towards better policy a fair economy and a system that protects its people. I hope to work towards making the party more accessible and inclusive. |
-11C | 163 | Ortega, Frances T | F | Now more than ever is a time to work toward strengthening our democracy. I'm pleased to see primary elections opening (i.e. Legislative session 2025 Parajon) to parties outside democrats and republicans yet I wonder how many of those voters will take advantage of this. I aim to build an informed electorate with increased participation alongside my neighbors and friends. |
-11C | 165 | Garcia, Felice M | F | I am running for the State Central Committee of the Democratic Party of New Mexico because I believe democrats can and must do a better job of reaching out to those who feel unseen and unheard. I have served as an SCC member and Ward Chair after the 2016 elections. Democrats must return to promoting inclusion equity compassion and resilience. We must build a coalition of voters and leaders inclusive of those from marginalized communities and understand how to support all New Mexicans promote living wages affordable housing protection from gun violence access to effective affordable healthcare clean air and water and education that prepares New Mexico’s children to thrive. Our communities and our values must be our priority while we resist the growing authoritarianism and divisive narrative in Washington as billionaires are given unchecked authority to dismantle congressionally mandated institutions. We must work together to oppose misinformation and replace it with meaningful listening and engagement across New Mexico and grow a party inclusive of the diversity of all our people. We have the resources to grow a healthy safe and prosperous New Mexico for all it is time to create the change we need. |
-11C | 165 | Garcia, Alexandra Marie | F | I am running for SCC because I believe in building a Democratic Party that truly reflects and represents the voices of all New Mexicans. As a lifelong New Mexican healthcare advocate and current Executive Director of a statewide association I have seen firsthand how policy decisions affect our communities—especially rural underserved and working-class families. I am committed to equity transparency and grassroots empowerment and I want to ensure that our party is accessible inclusive and driven by bold progressive values. I bring experience in organizing coalition-building and advocacy and I’m ready to help strengthen the Democratic Party from the ground up. |
-11D | 187 | Jones, Jordan Douglas | M | I have been happy for nearly a year to volunteer as editor of the Blue Review writing articles and helping inform and engage the county party. We have done some great things as a party in New Mexico and have kept the state and federal elected offices blue. But there is more that we can and need to do to protect and restore democracy nationally. This is why it's critical that we have a vibrant active party that reaches into every county. Outreach to the working class to veterans to federal workers to teachers to the middle class in every community in New Mexico is critical to protecting common rights and values. I want to support that work at the state level. |
-11D | 187 | Stahlhut, Sonja L | F | Both my parents were staunch California FDR Democrats so that is the tradition I grew up in. Because my history with the Democratic Party stretches back so far I feel I have much to bring to the party that is relevant again. Since coming to New Mexico in May of 2018 our beautiful state has been reliably blue while at the same time developing and expanding economically as well as providing educational and job opportunities. That's no coincidence. I believe it's important to personally reach out to ALL New Mexicans to show them what a unified committed pragmatic principled Democratic Party can do for both our state and our country. |
-11D | 187 | Stahlhut, Leslie Jane | F | Since the day in 2016 that Donald Trump descended from an escalator and announced his candidacy for president I have learned that democracy is not a given but must be fought for each and every election cycle. I am running to be on the Bernalillo County Democratic Party Central Committe because at this juncture I feel that participating fully in the process at the party level is the only way to protect the indigenous peoples immigrants seniors and veterans as well as to pave a way for all of our children and grandchildren to thrive. |
-11D | 187 | Torres, Carol J | F | My name is Carol Torres and I have been a proud Democrat my entire life. My father use to be sheriff and I spent many years working in the County Clerks office and working for Democrats. I remember when it use to be exciting to be Democrat and that joy is gone. Let's bring it back! |
-14C | 123 | Carver, Adrian N. | M | I’m running for SCC because the Democratic Party must be more innovative inclusive effective and community-driven. I live and work in Bernalillo County and have spent the last 20 years organizing for social economic and racial justice across New Mexico. As a strategist communicator and policy advocate I know how to bring people together listen deeply push for (and win) real results. I’ve served in leadership roles in nonprofits and coalitions and in the public and private sectors. I am committed to growing the party. I know that building power must be done with the people most impacted by decisions. I’m ready to support the building of systems for nontraditional engagement. We must evolve to meet the moment. |
-14C | 124 | Avcil, Sila | F | Why I am running for SCC is because our state needs more diverse young voices represented in the SCC. As a first generation young professional leader in our state I believe I can bring that perspective and empower more youth to get involved. |
-14C | 124 | Frieden Templeton, Jacob Aaron | M | I am running for SCC because I want to contribute to the success of our party. |
-14C | 124 | Grothus, Barbara J | F | I have been a long time activist in the party and in our community. We are facing the loss of our democracy and the dismantling of our government is accelerating. The Democratic Party is the largest national organization capable of fighting back. Our leadership has been lackluster. We need to be pushing from the grassroots to stop this travesty. Working together we can mount the offense to the outrageous attacks on our communities our neighbors our institutions our land air and water and the life forms going extinct to climate change. Defunding is not defending. We are losing 3 species per HOUR today. I am a fighter. I appreciate your consideration |
-14C | 226 | Montano, Ian | M | I am a proud lifelong New Mexican Democrat. An engineer artist and the son of two public educators I commit to honor the principles of equality compassion and knowledge for all. I believe in the powers of inclusion and truth -- we can only grow stronger by striving to know each other more completely and genuinely. Siempre voy a luchar para los que no pueden. |
-15A | 4 | Powell, Ray Bennett | M | My fellow Bernalillo County Democratic Party Leader Greetings I am a lifelong Democrat licensed veterinarian botanist and plant ecologist current Bernalillo County Precinct Chair (#4) current SCC member former Special Assistant to Gov. Bruce King 3 term elected NM State Land Commissioner and current AFSCME Retirees Chapter 18 Executive Board member. My passion is public service and I strongly believe in the importance of a strong and active Democratic Party in NM. Our working families need active and effective representation now more than ever. I am committed to continue to work on behalf of ALL New Mexicans against the despotic republican federal administration that is jeopardizing our American Democracy. As a union member I believe in the importance of organized labor in ensuring that workers are treated fairly and with respect and dignity. I would greatly appreciate your vote for State Central Committee from Bernalillo County. Thank you! Ray Powell ---------------------------------------- Ray Powell M.S. -15A | 13 | Kelly, Susan L | F | I've been a Democrat all of my life. The first election where I was able to vote was for President Clinton. I've always been a voter donor and volunteer but since 2017 I've been very active in the Party and have helped in some of our successes: all 3 branches of the State government are controlled by Dems we are represented by Melanie Stansbury in CD1 and our entire delegation is Blue. I'm going to keep fighting until we defeat the MAGA scourge in our politics and we are able to implement our Democratic common sense policies that are largely supported by the voting public. I am a Ward Chair and I am very interested in finding out who the non-voters are and reaching out to them. In our Ward that's about 20% of registered Democrats in the last Presidential election. Those non-voters must be in shock right now to see what havoc Trump is wreaking. I think this would be an productive effort for the DPNM to support. I'm an optimist so even with the awfulness I have hope. We all must keep working and doing whatever we can. |
-15A | 108 | Cobb, Sarah W | F | I have served on the State Central Committee for a number of years and would like to continue to do what I can to support the State Democratic Party and candidates who are dedicated to working to improve the lives of New Mexicans. I had the honor of working with Senator Tom Udall for close to 14 years. |
-15A | 219 | Passalaqua, Cheryl Ann | F | As a lifelong Democrat and activist I would like to delve more deeply into the party itself and help steer it through the chaos inflicted by the Trump administration. I'd like to be part of shaping the party to weather this storm protect those impacted by his cruelty and project a strong positive image of our party heading into the mid-terms and the gubernatorial/state elections in 2026. I have been a precinct chair since 2017 and vice-ward chair since 2020 working on the grass-roots level to get out the vote whip up enthusiasm for our candidates and connect my community with their elected officials. I would now like to expand into a more state-wide role and look forward to working with other Democrats in keeping New Mexico blue and a safe haven of sanity. |
-15B | 17 | Klein, Harris I | M | I am currently a SCC member and am running for another term. During my current term I have concentrated on 2 major issues: the exodus of physicians and the cause which is high malpractice rates and the environment. I have lobbied senators on the malpractice issue and during this session the solutions were divided into 3 committees none of which are advancing any bills. NM insurers pay out $180 for every $100 they take in causing insurers to leave the state or raise the rates so high that doctors. Finding a specialist in NM takes almost a year to get in while in neighboring states it is 60 days max. The second issue is water. The trial attorney group is buying our legislators. I am a grassroots volunteer with Trout Unlimited working with government agencies to improve our streams and rivers. When the Supreme Court did away with the clean water act NM was left 90% of our streams unprotected. The snowpack in the San Juan Mountains is 60% of normal which will cause a continuation of the drought. Our waters need protecting and I am working with legislators to fix this. Agua es vida. |
-15B | 668 | Christiansen, Terri A | F | I want to feel better about the Democratic party! |
-15C | 11 | Swan, Betsey B | F | I became a Precinct Chair after Trump’s first election a Ward Chair for 4 years and am now a Vice Ward Chair in my second term. I have worked with many dedicated Democrats to engage others on issues of importance to them to develop materials that provide voters with information about how and when to vote and to register and engage new Democrats through meet the candidate picnics. I believe our last presidential election was one of desperation expertly engineered by Republicans over the past 39 years through a system of lowering taxes for the wealthy and increasing the national debt. Over 56% of Americans do not have the money to pay for a $1000 emergency. When George Romney was the President of American Motors he did not earn more than ten times what his lowest paid employee earned. In 2018 the Board of Tesla awarded Elon Musk $54000000000 in stock options. Go to https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1d4LsccgPk2oB7inhN0t07-jRkgLSq0_g for a review of federal income tax brackets and rates along with a chart of what Elon Musk might have paid in taxes under various administrations. To prepare for 2026 we must have strong messaging and leadership. We must be inclusive and united. |
-15C | 126 | Digiovanni, Andrew Craig | M | I serve as chair of Ward 15C and represent our communities in House District 15. I have served on the SCC for the past two years and seek to continue to support initiatives of the Democratic Party of New Mexico. It is my vision that the state party strengthen its vision mission and values. I support finding efficiencies through innovative technologies and improving engagement with younger voters. We need a platform that is user-friendly and socialized with our legislative leaders. It is my expectation that the state party will support volunteer leaders to mobilize their communities during this time of difficult change. |
-15C | 191 | Miller, Stephen James | M | The political situation in the United States calls for state level diligence. I've been involved in precinct ward city county and state governance for long enough now to have a sense of what needs to be done and how to discern who might be best to represent me at various levels. I'm ready to be serious about reviewing candidates' credentials and making informed votes. |
-15C | 191 | White, Marcus E | M | I have been a Free Thinker since Sunday School. While I have worked on and for single issue campaigns mostly Abortion Rights I have made a conscious decision to participate in the Democrat Political Party from the Grass Roots up. Why? Fascists. Never in my worst nightmares did I anticipate the Hate loosed upon not just the United States but upon the Entire World. I remember studying the Fascists in school and wondering how could this happen? Well now I know. I still don't understand but now I know. And what I now know more than anything else is how proud I am of the work I have done in my precinct and that I must continue to work to be Part of the Solution. Please consider my Candidacy to serve on the New Mexico Democrat State Central Committee. Thank you. |
-15D | 192 | Smith, Michael I | M | To work for the goals of the Democratic Party. |
-15D | 192 | Yee, Jane L | F | I am running for the SCC to help organize a strong grassroots base in the Party that stands for economic environmental and social justice. I am one of the founding officers of the EJ Caucus; a member of the Adelante Progressive Caucus; a member of SPARC and the Bernalillo County Resolutions Committee. I have worked with progressive activists in all those venues to develop and promote meaningful policies and legislation that truly advances the well-being and interests of working people and people of color. Together we have taken many important issues to the SCC for discussion and vote. I would like to continue that work. |
-15D | 194 | Indritz, Tova M | F | I am running for re-election to the State Central Committee. At this time in history the Democratic Party is challenged more than ever before to keep our democracy alive. As a criminal defense lawyer for the past 49 years and as one who is aware of the immigration consequences of criminal charges and also as the grandchild of four immigrants to this country I am an advocate for the human rights of all people in the United States. On every front from climate change to reproductive rights to economic justice New Mexico can be a leader and far ahead of what is happening in other parts of the country. We must keep New Mexico blue and work with the national party to turn the US House and maybe the Senate to a Democratic majority in the upcoming mid-term elections. |
-15D | 375 | Ames, Jared Earl | M | I have been involved with the party structure since 2017. As a ward chair I lead a really active ward to advocate for progressive issues particularly environmental justice. Our ward worked to form the Environmental Justice Caucus and I was chair of the caucus for 3 years. I have been a ward chair for about 6 years. Our ward has drafted a number of resolutions at the county and state level. A few years ago the county resolutions committee wasn't able to make quorum. Our ward call all the members to make sure they were able to reach quorum so we could get our resolutions voted on. Since then the Resolutions Committee has been more engaged and meets regularly. I want to continue this activism and continue to bring my voice to the State Central Committee |
-15D | 375 | Carpenter, Muriel Naomi | F | The future of the Democratic Party is at stake given the horrendous events at the national level and the tepid ability of our state's elected officials to get legislation and city/county ordinances passed in keeping with the ideals of the grassroots in this state. I want to help strengthen our state party's power to meet the needs of New Mexicans and to communicate clearly about the direction the party is taking. |
-15E | 220 | Potter, Deborah A | F | Thank you for considering my re-election to SCC. I would be honored to have your vote. As an active passionate member of our party I’ve also served as Ward and Precinct Chairs. My vision is that in working together we will lead the party to further understand and help resolve concerns within our local communities and throughout our state. The DPNM platform resolutions and rules will successfully guide our political affairs and our decisions will meet this critical moment in time. My professional years were as a PhD scientist and public servant. At the NM Environment Department I protected water quality and helped organize the Department’s first employee union. My federal job in Albuquerque included wilderness protection re. watershed and air quality and academic research. I have been an active community volunteer: encouraging and mentoring girls and young women to pursue careers in science math and engineering; Board of Directors NM Network for Women in Science and Engineering; Board of Directors for Paws and Stripes (Service Dog training for Veterans); national Tester-Observer of potential Therapy Dog teams and pet therapy in medical facilities; Board of Alameda North Valley Association; and Bernalillo County Air Quality Control Board. |
-16A | 169 | Harrison, Wendell Nicholas | M | Active member of the County Party as volunteer coordinator and associate newsletter editor as well as Ward 16A secretary and Precinct 169 chair. Former Foreign Service Officer magazine publisher Air Force Captain and wireservice reporter. Interested in strengthening the Democratic message and clarifying roles in the party to be as effective as possible against a growing autocratic trend locally and nationally. |
-16B | 27 | Garcia, Daniel Alfredo | M | Why I am running for SCC because I believe in the power of leadership service and accountability to shape the future of our party and our communities. Throughout my years of public service and community involvement I have witnessed firsthand the challenges that our constituents face and I am committed to being a voice for them at the state level. Our party stands for principles that uplift hardworking families protect individual freedoms and promote responsible governance. However to remain strong we must ensure that our leadership is transparent responsive and truly representative of the people we serve. I am running to bring fresh ideas a strong work ethic and a commitment to grassroots engagement that will energize our party and make it more inclusive and effective. I will work to ensure that our party remains focused on its core values while adapting to the evolving needs of our state. I will advocate for better communication between leadership and local party members support strong candidates and encourage civic participation at every level. With your support I will be a dedicated and principled representative on the State Central Committee working tirelessly to strengthen our party and our communities. |
-17A | 171 | Wilkinson, Dorothy A | F | I want to be a member of SCC because I want to help get out the vote to make sure New Mexico stays blue It is important that New Mexico voters have a positive image of the Democratic Party of New Mexico and that all Democratic votersare involved with the state party I have had success organizing The Westside Democrats of Bernalillo County and I would bring that skill to DPNM |
-17A | 174 | Ramirez, Phillip | M | I am running for the Democratic Party (SCC) because I believe in the values of equity justice and community empowerment that our party stands for. I am committed to advocating for policies that uplift working families promote inclusive education and strengthen our collective voice. I want to ensure that our SCC actively represents the diverse perspectives within our community and addresses the issues that matter most to us such as affordable education access to trade programs and support for local initiatives. By joining the SCC I aim to foster a collaborative environment where every member feels heard and valued. Together we can create a future that reflects our shared aspirations and builds a stronger more united community. I invite you to support my candidacy as we work together to champion the principles of the Democratic Party and drive meaningful change for all. |
-17A | 642 | Milner, Patricia Paula | F | The fragility of democracy became starkly apparent with the rise of Trump his rhetoric revealing how easily public opinion could be manipulated. The 2024 election and the subsequent threat of Project 2025 aimed at dismantling democratic structures for an oligarchy intensified this concern. Passive observation is no longer an option. This moment demands active participation to safeguard our freedoms. Collective action is crucial to counter the forces undermining our democratic principles. I am running for SCC to contribute directly to this defense to ensure our rights are preserved. Each of us has a responsibility to act to be the somebody who rights this wrong and to collectively protect our democracy from erosion. |
-17B | 89 | Campos, Ricardo R | M | Life long resident of NM and party activist previously served as Guadalupe County Chair Santa Fe County Vice Chair Ward Chair Bernalillo County State Treasurer Young Democrats. Active in local state national campaigns elections since 1972 coordinator for Senator George McGovern vs Richard Nixon and have been active ever since. (Just to mention a few as you can see not my first Rodeo and hopfully not my last). |
-17B | 89 | Kuning, Robert Ross | M | I have served on the SCC since 2018. While serving I have attended all SCC meetings and endeavored to faithfully and accurately represent the wishes and views of my Ward and Precinct members at these meetings. I am running to be elected to the SCC again to ensure the people in my Ward have representation on the SCC. I will continue to work for a progressive fair and inclusive Democratic Party of New Mexico and use the experience and knowledge I gain as an SCC member to encourage and inspire others to get involved in the Democratic Party at all levels. Finally I really enjoy meeting other Democrats and local representatives at the Democratic Party meetings and functions and building relationships to help advance the interests of the citizens of Albuquerque Bernalillo County and New Mexico. |
-17B | 645 | Romero, John T | M | Hi my name is John T. Romero. I'm running to be on the SCC because it's time for me to be more involved after the 2024 election results. I'm a Professional Engineer with 31 years and counting in the Water Resources field working for the state. I'm originally from Mora NM. This rural upbringing with my education and vast network of elected officials and individuals from different backgrounds gives me a unique perspective on NM Politics. I feel I can bring something different to the Dem Party and I can be an asset on many different topics from technical to non-technical topics as well as sports related items since I coached basketball at the mid school and club level. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely John T. Romero. |

-18A | 344 | Akins, James Carl | M | I am a life-long Democrat active in Bernallio County since moving to Albuquerque in 2006. -18A | 355 | Petersen, Barbara E | F | As a lifelong educator and union member I have worked for candidates and policies that support the rights and well-being of our diverse working community. Sufficient funding for public schools respect for educators and the conditions that support learning and teaching for all students has been the focus of my action. As part of that I served on the APS Board of Education for 2 terms. But for students to thrive their parents need to live and work in communities that are livable and safe. Respect and livable wages on the job health care childcare a sense of security for the future -- these are the things that enable families to thrive and children to learn. As we see institutions crumple and surrender to the president's bullying and extortion we need an activist and vocal Democratic Party. We cannot be timid in offering a real alternative to the current reality. |

-18C | 244 | Attleson, Sara J | F | As a life-long activist and volunteer for the Democratic Party I am running for SCC. The reasons for running are many. As a member of SCC I would be part of the DPNM's policy making as well as helping to implement the Party's platform. As a SCC member I would help promote the election of Democratic candidates. -18C | 244 | Denker, Nancy | F | I've been fighting for Democratic ideals since the late 60s. I am horrified about what is happening to our country and government under Trump and feel I must step up to vigorously oppose what is going on to restore our constitution women's rights and human equality. We must restore our economy to one for our citizenship rather than the oligarchy we now find ourselves ruled by. We must restore the social infrastructure that has made us the great country that we were as well as moving forward to restoring our place in the world stage and being a defender of our planet. I was previously chair of the platform and resolutions committee and helped lead our state to one of the most progressive platforms in the country. I walked the talk as owner of a union print shop for over 30 years. Now more than ever we need committed folks to protect our country and our democracy. I would be honored to have your vote for my SCC membership. Thank you. |

-18D | 252 | Brostoff, Merna B | F | I've lived in Albuquerque since 1984. More progress is needed on affordable housing statewide equality for all including the LGBTQ community support for local businesses farmers veterans and water conservation. -18D | 252 | Gutterud, Diane Kay | F | I am running for the State Central Committee because I feel in a democracy we the people should have a say in how our Party should run. We need to rebuild our neglected rural counties and bolstering existing counties. I envision a DPNM that's actively engaged with leadership in the field connecting with voters and listening to their needs. Our State Party needs to be more hands-on in understanding the diverse needs of each county. We need to develop support and train local candidates from Day One. As Ward chair precinct chair and member of the Veteran's Caucus I have worked tirelessly to ensure we are connecting with Voters. My experience has shown that success comes from strong organizational skills clear communication and general commitment to those we serve. I want to work hard to ensure DPNM is well-positioned to face the challenge. |
-18D | 252 | Howell, C Rachael | F | This is the most important moment in the history of our democracy. I was elected as the first municipal judge in Rio Communities (2013) later served as Valencia County Magistrate Judge (2020) and now proudly represent District 4 on the APS Board of Education. As we approach the critical 2026 gubernatorial race it is essential that we stand united to defend our values and protect the most vulnerable in our communities. The SCC plays a crucial role in shaping our party’s direction strategy and leadership and I am eager to bring my experience dedication and commitment to equity and justice to this work. I'd be honored to have your support/vote as we continue to strengthen our party engage our communities and fight for a more just and inclusive New Mexico. Thank you for your consideration! |
-18D | 253 | Benavidez, Madeline Eve | F | I am Madeline (Maddie) Benavidez a proud young Democrat and lifelong advocate for our party’s values. At 22 I have been politically engaged for as long as I can remember volunteering for Democratic candidates and causes across New Mexico. Since casting my first ballot in 2021 for Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury I have voted in every election understanding the power of civic engagement. I have worked tirelessly to support my parents—APS Board Member Heather Benavidez and Chief Metro Court Judge Joshua J. Sanchez—as well as Democratic leaders like retired Valencia County Magistrate Judge Tody Perea and former Senate Majority Leader Michael S. Sanchez. As a committed and energetic voice for young Democrats I would be honored to serve on the State Central Committee and help shape the future of our party. I humbly ask for your vote. |
-18D | 253 | Brown, Daniel K | M | I am running for the SCC to have a queer voice in the state Democratic Party. I'm the vice chair of outreach and engagement for the LGBTQIA+ Caucus the Vice President of the Albuquerque Social Club Improvement Project and the newly elected Precint chair of precinct 253. I'm a strong democrat and believe we need to keep strong queer representation in the State Central Committee. We need to keep championing queer and trans identities at the forefront of New Mexico democratic politics and continue to shape the party for the next generation of voters. Democratic values and goals in the state of New Mexico MUST continue while advocating for all minorities and social issues our party has historically supported. I hope to earn your vote! |
-18D | 253 | Loisel, Guillaume P | M | I’m a member of the LGBTQIA Caucus and I want to see our community well represented in the Democratic Party. It is important for the future of the party that we create cohesive community and include as many voices as possible. I prefer candidates who will fiercely protect queer and trans rights. I'm a proud Democrat and aim to retain our Democratic congressional delegation and restore our democracy. I admire progressive leaders who can find commonalities and build consensus. I look forward to expanding election participation with the newly revised primary guidelines which will allow primary participation for independent (including decline to state affiliation) voters. I anticipate that most of these voters will request a Democratic ballot. |

-18D | 256 | Craft, Joshua R | M | I’ve been a New Mexican since I was 7 and I’ve been working for the public sector since I was 18. Giving back to the community is super important to me. I’ve served on the downtown neighbor association board and am currently a member of the DEM LGBTQIA+ Caucus. Education alternative forms of energy and preserving LGBTQIA+ rights are all things that really matter to me. The Democratic Party needs to change and stop repeating the same old mistakes. |
-18D | 273 | Chazin-Seidelman, Fay M | F | I'm running for SCC because I believe we need a strong Democratic Party in New Mexico and I believe I can provide involvement and leadership that will benefit the party. -10A | 106 | Guerrero, Selinda | F | I am running for the SCC to continue to work for the party. I am a community organizer movement builder network weaver and advocate. My work is building relationships with the community to build people-power for the beautiful vision of Freedom and Self-Determination we have for the communities we need. Selinda as an organizer says her main work is to lift the voices of the voiceless” as a grassroots human rights activist and organizer. Her political organizing home is with Millions for Prisoners NM / IWOC Save the Kids from Incarceration and ABQ Mutual Aid. I believe these values of community first and working direct with communities to problem solve and build together are imperative to moving the party forward. We have big work ahead of us in these very uncertain times our connection and relationships are the most important protections we have to not just survive but to build the true democracy we all need. |
-10B | 91 | Reynolds, Angela L | F | As a lifelong educator member of the Democratic Party rank and file member of the the Albuquerque Teachers Federation and NMEmerge Graduate (Class of 2008) it is my duty to stand up against the tyrannical regime that is currently destroying our country by helping to shape the policies endorsements and priorities for the party going forward. In this way I can ensure that the party reflects the needs and values of my community and bring unrepresented voices into our state conversations. |
-10B | 98 | Turley-Corbett, Karen K | F | I am running for SCC to support any change that will make the party stronger more focused and directed towards opposing Trump and those who support him and the havoc he is wrecking on our nation our state and our well-being. |

I have been a sometimes more sometimes less active participant in both the DPBC and the DPNM for nearly 20 years but I have always participated in our democracy on some level because I believe that maintaining our democracy is up to us. We cannot ignore what is happening as our rights are being stripped away and our Constitution is made impotent and we cannot pretend that the goal of the blatant dismantling and destruction of government departments and the fundamental structure of our (heretofore} functioning government itself is to end America as a free and democratic nation. We must speak up and make ourselves heard and I humbly ask for your vote to be your voice. |

I am the former Public Education Commissioner District 1 and recently was a board member of Robert F. Kennedy Public Charter School. I am deeply concerned with our Public Education system's failure to address educational attainment for our children's future success and have been active in upholding our State Platform's commitment to public education. My work in the Democratic Party began as a young college student in the Party's voter registration and education programs while I lived in El Paso Texas. I have continued this activism leading many voter registration efforts with the Southwest Voter Registration Project. It is my belief we have to always create streams of new voters and pathways to leadership to keep our party active and engaged to ensure we remain inclusive diverse and representative of our communities. I believe in participatory democracy and I spend much time helping to mentor new generations of party activists. Thank you. |

-13B | 52 | Gonzales, Prescilliano Matthew | M | I am running for the SCC to ensure that Union's and members have a voice within the Democratic Party. It is imperative that we do everything that we can to ensure fair elections without interference from dictatorship and those that wish to take away our democracy. I am a Union business manager and New Mexico Building Trades trustee I have no problem fighting against the establishment and those who would have rather have us work for the company store begging for scraps from the fat cats table. If we don't fight to reenter the Democratic Party and its goals we will see more of those who will leave the party and join forces with the Republican agenda. Democracy is too fragile to stand on the sidelines. I have demonstrated over the last 15 years that I stand with Democrats and making sure that they are elected serving the needs of the people. I have lived in district 13 B for the last 33 years and was born and raised in Albuquerque South Valley. The time to fight is now! |
